Professor David Marsh CBE

Managing Director and Co-Founder of OMFIF, an independent think tank for central banking, economic policy and public investment.
Previously, David worked for City merchant bank Robert Fleming, corporate finance boutique, Hawkpoint and German management consultancy, Droege. Between 1978 and 1995, he worked for the Financial Times in London, France and Germany, including a spell as European Editor.
David is a Board Member of Henderson Eurotrust, the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany and German-British Forum. He was made Commander of the British Empire in 2000 and was awarded the German Order of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) in 2003.
He is a frequent media commentator in Europe and the US. Additionally, he has published several books that have contributed to academic debates, such as on Germany and Europe, the creation of the euro and the euro-zone crisis.
David is a Visiting Professor at King's College London and at the Department of Politics at Sheffield University.
His books include Europe's Deadlock: How the Crisis Could Be Solved – And Why It Won't Happen (2013, updated 2016); The Euro – The Politics of the New Global Currency (2009) and Germany and Europe – The Crisis of Unity (1994).
David is an Hon Member of the Keele World Affairs Advisory Panel.
